It’s here, the self-confirmation lock-up fans have been waiting for! Descendents have self-confirmed their attendance at the Reading and Leeds Festivals, with a string of dates to accompany the festival performances.
The reveal was made during the weekend, at Groezrock, when at least one lucky fan with backstage privileges had the chance to speak to Milo Aukerman, vocalist of the band, who then went on to self-confirm their appearance at this year’s Reading and Leeds Festivals.
The Californian punk-rockers have been the lifeblood behind melodic hardcore for the last 30 years, giving us six studio albums in the process. After seven years since the last hiatus, last year saw the return of the band to the live circuit, with sold-out shows in London both tonight and tomorrow.
Strictly Our Opinion: With the bar being set so high last year, having Bad Religion to headline, it seems appropriate that another band with a huge legacy should grace us with their presence at Reading/Leeds this year. There is a good chance that this will get people investing in tickets after the two London shows. Reviews coming back from Groezrock have been glowing, and if they can transfer this four months down the line, we could be treated to a monumental festival set.
We here at Strictly are perhaps deemed to be quite critical of Festival Republic‘s mistakes so far, but rest assured, we think this is a top-draw booking, and provided this is officially confirmed, then we salute them.
